The Sandlarks
Auxiliary to Children Today

Since October 2002, The Sandlarks have supported the mission of Children Today in numerous ways. The Sandlarks is a dynamic group of women who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children in the community through service and fundraising activities while enjoying a tradition of support and friendship.

Throughout the year, The Sandlarks initiate and assist with various supportive activities. Members participate in whichever events fit their schedules and give them the greatest satisfaction. Examples of these projects include: 

• Supporting Children Today fundraising events 
• Assisting with the annual Play House Thanksgiving Feasts 
• Preparing lunches for the Play Houses to fill in for vacationing staff 
• Initiating fundraising projects, including diaper and shoe drives and rummage sales 
• Sorting donations, laundering and storage for clothing, crafts, toys and other items donated by the community

Founded in 1951, Sandlarks members have been involved with a number of community nonprofits. Previously, the Sandlarks served as an auxiliary to both the Children's Home Society and the Long Beach Day Nursery.
 
With its strong membership, The Sandlarks begin their second fifty years of service to children and families through creative, high-energy, and significant fund-raising accomplishments.
